On August 3rd, the Sausalito Dog Park sponsored the food and beverage booths at Jazz and Blues by the Bay in Gabrielson Park.  With the superlative leadership, experience, and organizational skills of volunteer, Marita Albert, the food and drink we provided was well received by the crowd.  The weather was reasonably cooperative and we all enjoyed the music of Andre Thierry and Zydeco Magic.  Volunteers were abundant and a feeling of exhilaration was in the air at the end of the evening.  Most importantly, we were able to raise significant funds to continue to maintain and improve our wonderful Dog Park!  Many, many thanks to all the people who helped make this event a success!

The sun sparkled on the bay as the 2012 Sausalito 4th of July Parade wound its way down Bridgeway to Caledonia.  Friends of the Sausalito Dog Park were represented by a remarkably well-behaved canine contingent.  Looking very patriotic, the dogs were dolled up in their 4th finery.  Definitely, a wonderful way for people and pooches to spend Independence Day. If you have pictures of the parade from 4th July 2012 please email them to sausalitodogpark@gmail.com.

July 4th is just around the corner!  Once again, the Sausalito Dog Park will be participating in the annual Sausalito Independence Day Parade.  Bring your pooch (or pooches)  decked out in all the red, white, and blue glory they’ll tolerate as we walk through the town.

The parade begins at the corner of Second and Main (in the parking lot of the old Valhalla Restaurant), proceeds down Bridgeway to Caledonia Street (past the Judges’ stand) and ends at Dunphy Park.

When: Puppies and their parents assemble between 9:30 and 9:45 A.M.  The official start of the Parade is at 10 A.M. Please note: Parking is difficult!!!  Allow lots of extra time.  (Many participants park on the side streets at the end of the parade route and walk to the starting line.)

A town picnic in Dunphy Park with activities, food, and entertainment & fireworks follows the Parade.  For more info, go to:

Let’s make 2012 the biggest canine turnout ever!
